Pretties (The Uglies Book 2)
by Scott Westerfeld

Sarah-Wa here! Before I get into this review, I have a very important questions. Are you Team Zane or Team David? #TeamZane

From bogus to bubbly, PRETTIES is somehow even more amazing than UGLIES. Like a million trillion Helens. The world we were introduced to in the first book explained even further into some dizzy-making new discoveries, making us doubt everything we knew in UGLIES. Just when you think you have everything figured out, you are faced with one twist after another. The perfect pace to keep you reading page after page, until you reach the end.

I think my favorite part about this book is the Pretty language that is spoken throughout. Westerfeld does an amazing job with this, not only to entertain but to easily make the reader understand who is still affected by the pretty surgery and who is not. You can instantly meet a new character and know where they stand. You find yourself talking pretty-minded, as your non-bookish friends give you weird looks.

Westerfield, I would like to shake your hand. It is very rare in a series for book two to be just as good, let alone better than the first. You have managed to shake things up so perfectly, that I instantly need to dive into book 3. #highfive
