A Place to Call Home – Toby’s Tale

By G.A. Whitmore

First and Foremost: Proceeds from this book go to no kill shelters and shelters that find forever homes for forever fur babies. That is AWESOME.

If you’re an animal lover like me – You will LOVE this book. You will also cry.. so be warned. Happy tears, Sad Tears, you’ll feel joy you’ll feel pain. But for extreme animal lovers like me that couldn’t live withouth their fur babies, that’s a normal day.

G.A. Whitmore tells the tale of Toby, a white German Shepard stuggling to find a forever home. This is based on a true story of her rescue dog – Also AWESOME. Having a long history of rescue animals myself, it hits home.

Reading a book from the perspective of the animal was a new twist for me – it’s kind of cool to get in the mind of a dog. Everyone always wishes they knew what a dog was thinking – this book tells the dogs story from the dogs eyes incredibly. Even though the book seems intended for middle school aged readers – I enjoyed the easy and fast read it allowed for. Great night cap and morning start book.

Character development could use a little work – and you can’t have too heavy of a heart when reading about abuse and abandonment and the hardships a shelter or rescue dog endures before finding their true HOME – but if you can be a realist, understand that the bad stuff happens, and we can be the ones to make it better – you can finish this book with a smile knowing YOU can and/or maybe already have saved a life like Toby’s.

If you love dogs, you loved Marley and Me, you loved Max – Read Toby’s Tale.

Synopsis:
