The author, Rose M Channing has you hooked right at the beginning, wondering who these twins, Ellie and Savannah, are and where they come from.

As they travel back to the magical land of their birth, an alternative world, through the shadow cave, things become quite mysterious although they know they are destined for something out of the ordinary. They embrace their magical talents and set out to find the secret to restore balance to their world. Their travels take them deep into the mansion to find the center of magic and solve the mystery of the blank pages in the book.

There is a long list of characters to keep track of and may not be played out completely in this book, however, some play a part in the history of the magical world that is revealed and others may be incidental at this time. The switching back from the adventure to the characters may be a bit hard to follow.

This book is a magical experience. It is something a young read would enjoy as it takes you to a magical place where many strange things occur. The creation of atmosphere and characters takes you to a surreal place in your mind wanting to know more with each chapter.

The relationship the twins have with each other even though they are strangely different and the relationship they have to the magical land of their birth even though they need more answers, keep this story interesting.

Will they go back to the other world in book two? Will they take the magic with them? Will others join them? All questions that the reader will ask when finished.

Synopsis

A beautiful, magical world has been ravaged by a terrible storm. Homes were destroyed, families torn apart, and even the sweetest magic twisted by darkness.
