Hi! This is your fellow blogger, Gab! Besides working as an assistant librarian for a year, I’d have to say the BookTube community on YouTube is what got me back into reading. I have discovered SO many books that have I now hold dear to my heart. A good chunk of my YouTube subscriptions are of book reviewers, and it’s fantastic. There is a BookTuber that goes by GingerReadsLainey. Last year she started a weekly book tag video series called “Top 5 Wednesday.” She would give a book related topic (top romances, best covers, etc.) that you then have to choose five books based on that topic. She has continued it this year Here is a link to the group page on Goodreads if you want to participate or just know more information. Here at Girl Plus Book, we wanted to get in on this! I thought this would be a lot of fun and help you all get to know us a bit better through our books.

This week’s theme is top five books we would save in a fire. I WANT TO SAVE THEM ALL! I love all my books! I have a feeling this was an easier decision for Sarah than me. I had to give some books a long hard think to know if it would be one of the first books on my mind during a fire. On to our choices!

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky: This is the first book I ever read that I could not put down and the first book I ever re-read. This is still my original copy from high school.

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte: This is my favorite classic novel. I’m collecting as many editions as I can, and this is a 1945/46 edition that was give as a gift.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling: This is my favorite series in the world, and this is the one I would choose to save. This is the book that really shows the characters as humans.

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak: One of the most beautifully written books that really messed me up emotionally. I’ll love it forever.

The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman: Again, a beautifully written book. This book has some incredible imagery. I feel like I could read this over and over and still get creeped out by it.
